The Journalism Program at Fullerton College provides a solid foundation in all forms of print journalism, including newspaper and magazine publishing. The department offers courses in journalism, public relations and advertising, with certificates available in each area. The latest computer typesetting and editing equipment gives students the skills needed to meet employers’ demands. The faculty are professionals who are active in writing and publishing.
We offer Associate of Arts degree for Transfer as well as a standard Associate of Arts degree in Journalism. We also offer certificates in Journalism and Public Relations, as well as Spanish Language Reporting, Multimedia Reporting Drone Journalism all in 2019.
We offer a variety of courses that help develop skills in writing, researching, problem solving, critical thinking, interviewing, editing and proofreading. Courses are geared toward developing foundational, as well as technological skills to prepare students for success in today’s multimedia world.
Students are able to gain real-world experience and develop their portfolios and reels through working on a variety of student media.
